was established in 1957 as a joint enterprise by the government and private sector, under the name of Japan Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd.
In 1960, JSR commenced, with the completion of its Yokkaichi plant Japan’s first full scale domestic production of SBR and SBR lattices SB latex lines.
In 1969, the Company was fully privatized.
In 1997, the company has changed its name from Japan Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd. to JSR Corporation.
Today there are four products domains include Elastomers and Plastics, Digital Solutions and most recently Life Sciences in JSR Corporation.
JSR supply high-quality products including the synthetic rubbers that were among the our first products, thermoplastic elastomers that have the characteristics of both rubber and plastic, and emulsions developed from technologies based on the polymerization of our synthetic rubbers and plastics. We also supply a wide range of functional materials, including industrial-use particles and battery materials.
In this area, JSR focuses primarily on ABS resins used for a wide range of purposes, including automobile parts, household appliances and building materials.
Using technologies cultivated through the development of polymer materials, JSR develops and supplies many products with top shares at the global level, including lithography materials, chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) materials and packaging materials, which are essential to the production of semiconductor chips. We also supply LCD materials and next-generation display materials for use in the production of LCD and organic EL flat panel displays. We also supply UV-curable resins used in 3D printing.
In this area, with the expanded range of global strategic partners from both inside and outside the JSR Group, we focus on materials targeting in-vitro diagnostics, research reagents and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
